MTA student researches relationship between humans and nature while at AWI

“One of our students, who is studying biology and sociology, has created their own experiential learning opportunity with the Atlantic Wildlife Institute (AWI). The AWI is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife that has been displaced as a result of human encroachment on natural ecosystems. As part of the learning opportunity the student who will organize and upload a backlog of data for the AWI. They, along with other researchers in the fields of ecology and environmental science, will be able to look at that local data on a large scale, monitoring trends of population among many species. The student is using their biology and sociology background to better understand the complex relationship humans have with nature and how we, as a population, can better protect it.”
